For every five knowledge workers on your payroll, research suggests you are paying a sixth salary that produces nothing except finding things your company already knows. Your buyers ask AI before they call you. Your competitors are converting document work into machine work. And the vendor in front of you is using the word “sovereign” to mean four different things in the same meeting.
This course is for the person who has to decide whether to invest, how much, and in what, and then defend that decision to a board.
What this is
A decision course of roughly five hours for CEOs, CIOs, CTOs and General Counsel at companies whose knowledge, and whose data, is worth real money. Eleven full lessons, written as teaching rather than slide notes. No code, no algorithms, no hype: the business case for an AI knowledge system, built from your own numbers, and then everything you need to buy, govern, and own one without being deceived.
What you will be able to do
- Price your status quo: what unfindable knowledge and manual document work cost you today, from your own payroll numbers, using the honest three-tier ROI method that survives a finance review.
- Explain what retrieval-augmented generation is, what it is worth, and what it does not fix, in one minute, to a board.
- Name the five value streams of a knowledge system, which of them can be measured, computed, or only evidenced, and how the ownership path compounds them.
- Tell the difference between cloud, private, and sovereign, and say honestly which one you need. Most companies need private and have been sold sovereign.
- Run a four-question decision framework where two questions can veto and two cannot.
- Know what the EU AI Act timeline actually says after the 2026 amendments, including the obligation that did not move, and how compliance readiness becomes a selling point instead of a cost.
- Protect your investment with ten written questions no vendor can talk around, an exit package that keeps your knowledge asset yours, and a pilot that produces a decision instead of a fourteenth month.
- Run a 90-day plan that ends in a documented, defensible go or no-go.
The lessons
- What RAG actually is. The lawyer who filed six cases that did not exist, and the mechanism behind it.
- Why you need this system. The five value streams, the fifth-employee arithmetic, and the honest ROI method: measured, computed, and named-but-unpriced.
- Why most enterprise RAG fails. Seven documented failure points, only one of them a model problem, plus an anonymized case from our own delivery record: extraction accuracy from the 50–76% range to roughly 90–99%, and the model barely changed.
- Cloud, private, sovereign. The four-question framework, and the two questions that can veto.
- Residency, regulation, governance. What changed in the EU AI Act in 2026, what did not, and how to turn the obligation into an asset.
- What ownership actually means. Four layers. You can own three and still be locked in.
- The honest economics. When owning is cheaper, when it is not, who is lying about the crossover, and how the cost model joins your benefits case.
- How to specify and buy. Ten questions with the good answer and the evasion for each: your value case, converted into clauses.
- Governance, security, and the audit question. The permissions failure you cannot see in a demo, and evals, the discipline that keeps the value you bought.
- Running the decision. Who is in the room, three build paths honestly compared, and what separates a pilot from a demo.
- The 90-day executive playbook. Six blocks. One defensible decision.
What this course will not do
It will not teach you to build a RAG system, and it will not pretend every company needs the sovereign version, because most do not, and we say so in Lesson 4 and again in Lesson 7. Every benefit claim in it is either a measurement from our own delivery record, arithmetic you can rerun on your own numbers, or named honestly as a judgment. If you are looking for a course that promises a percentage return it has never measured, this is the wrong one, and so is any vendor who does.
Who teaches it
Revenue Experts AI builds private AI systems on client infrastructure for organisations with data they cannot export. We are funded by consulting, not by software, so we have no platform to sell you. Every claim in this course is traceable to a named source listed at the end of the lesson it appears in, and where we have an interest, we say so out loud, in the lesson.
